[xdebug-general] xdebug installation problem

   1. I am using a mac running 10.11.6, and a fresh version of php 5.6 on
   XAMPP
   2. I used the script tool to get instructions and
   download xdebug-2.5.4.tgz
   3. It told me to expect: Zend Module Api No: 20131226
   4. I followed all the instructions, but did not see xdebug in phpinfo
   5. I found the following line in the error_log on XAMPP:
      - Xdebug requires Zend Engine API version 220121212.
      - The Zend Engine API version 220131226 which is installed, is newer.
      - Contact Derick Rethans at http://xdebug.org/docs/faq#api for a
      later version of Xdebug.

Have I done something wrong?
