Hm, it loads ok here with this in /usr/local/etc/php-cli.ini:
zend_extension=/usr/local/lib/php/20041030/xdebug.so
I use lang/php5-cli (5.0.3).

I'll update the port to 2.x if/when people ask for it. Nobody
complained about it staying at 1.3.2 so far.
