Are you able to find xdebug among Ubuntu's packages? What mind you find
with apt-cache search xdebug? If you view the info for that package such
as with apt-cache show php-xdebug, you should be able to find out what
version of PHP it's meant to go with. If you already have php installed,
then if you install *xdebug* via *pecl* with pecl install xdebug, you
should definitely get the right version.
