[xdebug-general] Installation Problems

   I'm trying to install, learn, and use xdebug-2.1.1 to figure out why a
third-party application (CMS Made Simple) no longer runs here. It's probably
something local so the developers won't be able to help.

   System is running Slackware-13.1, PHP-5.2.17, and httpd-2.2.17.

   I followed the build and install instructions and modified
/etc/httpd/php.ini with

zend_extension_debug="/usr/lib/xdebug.so"

   But I do not see xdebug in the display of phpinfo(). There is no section
for zend or xdebug. And no mention of xdebug anywhere on that page.

   Might I have not configured the build properly? I did use --enable-xdebug.
