The URL variable enough is alone (as long as you've turned debugging on
with xdebug.remote_enable=1). I would use a network sniffer to see
whether a connection is attempted of being made. I don't know on which
platform you are, but Linux I'd pick wireshark. Seems to be available
for Windows and Mac OS X too: http://www.wireshark.org/download.html
