Mauro,
when you look at my original posting, you see that ldconfig finds the .so
files and identifies them correctly:
- ---snip---
When asking ldconfig for libtermcap and libedit, I get
libtermcap.so.2 (libc6,x86-64) => /usr/lib64/libtermcap.so.2
libedit.so (libc6,x86-64) => /usr/lib64/libedit.so
- ---pins---
And I cannot symlink /lib64 to /lib or vice versa since the libraries
inside are very different.
Derick,
the CFLAGS in front of configure do not change a bit.
So I am back to my question: what is configure looking for? And where? I am
not a programmer on OS level, just shell scripting, PHP and a little Perl
and ABAP...

To that, I agree ;-)
Cheers
