[xdebug-general] xdebug question

Hi,

I was at the PHP NY Conference. Thanks for the nice presentation.

I have a question about xdebug.

When the debugger is started does it do any lint checking against the
debugged php file and report back a syntax error? Otherwise how does it
behave if you submit to it an invalid file?
Is there a way to syntax (lint) check a file and report back the error ?
