[xdebug-general] error running apache with xdebug

Hello,
I compiled successfully xdebug, I tried with 1.3.1, 1.3.2, 2.0.0
on apache 1.3.31 and php4.3.8/php4.3.9 but every time
I run apache I receive the error:

./apachectl start: httpd could not be started

removing the following line from php.ini, it stats correctly

zend_extension=/usr/local/xdebug-1.3.2/modules/xdebug.so

unfortunatly there is no way to see messages on error_log or messages
log files!
I don't know what I can do to try in different ways!
